OMG!!! Big news ā Iām going to SF Sketchfest! š¤©Iāll be performing on the Stand-Up Showcase at The Lost Church, and I still canāt believe it. SF Sketchfest is where so many incredible comedians have stepped onstage ā and now I get to be part of it!
When I started stand-up, I didnāt even know what āstand-up comedyā was. (Honestly, I thought it was like karaoke but with opinions.) And now⦠Iām headed to SF Sketchfest. Life is wild.
AND it gets even bigger:This February, Iām recording my very first 30-minute set for Comedy InvAsian!!! šš±
This is such a dream come true. Comedy InvAsian uplifts Asian voices in comedy ā stories like mine. A Japanese woman who came to America, discovered comedy by accident, and scribbled her first jokes in a notebook.
And hereās the part that makes me emotional:My stationery pop-up events ā Pen Paper Palooza and the Venice Pop-Up ā are literally funding my comedy path.People buy their pens and notebooks⦠and somehow, they are also helping me chase this huge, sparkly dream.
I am so thankful. Truly. I always say Iām the luckiest girl ā and I mean it. This community, both comedy and stationery, lifts me up in ways I never expected.
I went from being a mom who loved stationeryā¦to working at a Japanese notebook companyā¦to quitting that job to pursue comedyā¦to accidentally building the West Coastās first stationery festivalā¦to performing, teaching, and nowā¦festival stages and my first recorded special.
SF Sketchfest.Comedy InvAsian.Rosie Tran Presents on Amazon Prime Video. And one day ā Madison Square Garden 2030.
Iām saying it out loud. Iām manifesting it.And Iām working for it ā one joke, one notebook, one pop-up at a time.
Letās go!!! šš¤āØ
